It’s hard to resist comparing the Blason brothers to Orbital: bald brothers making electronic music… Well, I won’t resist. And I’m allowed to: I’ve been an Orbital fan from day one and went to every Paris gig they did. Including the super depressing 2012 come-back. If you check the GDC 2 double cassette, you will easily find more evidence of this.
Of course, Blason’s music sounds nothing like the one made by the Hartnoll brothers.
One of Blason’s greatest strength, is that, even though they use an impressive stack of synths, they always end-up making apparently simple, effortless, playful music that makes you feel like you could easily make it on your own. Well don’t try. You should all be old enough by now to know that there is no such thing as “simple music”.
